For accurate spread betting information you can’t really beat the spread betting broker that you are using to make your trades. It is true that some are better than others but in the case of the spread betting information that is supplied by the likes of IG Index and Finspreads, you can’t really go far wrong.
If we look at LCG for instance they make available a number of learning tools including ‘take a tour’, manual guide, FAQs section, complimentary seminars plus the demo accoun with 10,000 practice pounds to trade.
But LCG also make available a useful trading manual for new clients. If you are looking to understand how financial spread betting works you will find the training booklet a useful guide. This manual covers different areas from monitoring one’s account, to margin and risk management, introduction to fundamental analysis and technical analysis.
Don’t forget that the spread betting information that is supplied by these companies is bang up to date as well as being free of charge for clients and I have often found that people will spend lots of money paying for various subscription services when all they really need to do is take a closer look at the benefits that are on offer to them for simply being a client of one or more of the spread betting firms.
Many people forget that it is in the best interest of the spread betting firms to ensure that their clients have access to the best information that is out there because if they are successful with their spread betting they will remain active clients for a long time, so what better indication could you possibly get that the spread betting information that you will receive could very well be worth it’s weight in gold?
Forums
Spread betting and financial trading forums really are a double edged sword in that the astute bettor may be able to find some real nuggets of information but there are many occasions where the spread betting information that is shared is nothing more than drivel. With that in mind it is advisable for anyone who is new to the game to give them a miss. It is perfectly possible to look at a forum of this type with the intention of spending only a few minutes there, only to find that a few hours have gone by and you have learnt absolutely nothing! The time would be far better spent looking into the training resources which are supplied by your broker or watching the markets to see if any trading opportunities are about to present themselves to you.
Seminars
Anyone who has been involved with financial spread betting will soon come across advertisements for various seminars which are available on the subject. Whilst the spread betting information seminars which are offered by the spread betting firms are absolutely first class and highly recommended, there are other seminars out there which seem to promise all sorts of riches, usually in the form of some kind of trading ‘system’
You will no doubt see these seminars advertised up and down the country and they usually come in the form of a free taster of what is to come, followed by a hard sell for the main seminar which often comes with a price tag of several thousand pounds.
The choice of whether or not to go down this particular path is obviously entirely up to you but you should be aware that when something sounds to good to be true, it usually is!
